Tecnolumen Wagenfeld WG 28 table lamp – a reminiscence of the Bauhaus era
By means of the elegant
Wagenfeld WG 28 table lamp,
Tecnolumen takes up the iconic shape of the Bauhaus era. The timeless classic goes back to a design by the Bauhaus icon Wilhelm Wagenfeld and it is exclusively manufactured and distributed by the German light manufacturer
Tecnolumen. The prominent, cone-shaped lampshade and the classic form of the Bauhaus generation make the
Tecnolumen Wagenfeld WG 28 table lamp an absolute eye-catcher, no matter whether it is used as a
reading light in the bedroom, as a decorative furnishing object in living areas or in entrance areas, lobbies and foyers.
The
Tecnolumen Wagenfeld WG 28 table light is made from the traditional materials of the Bauhaus era. The lamp base and the pole of this
table lamp consist of clear glass. A tube made of nickel-plated metal can be seen inside the glass pole. The lampshade, however, is not made of Cellon, as it was done in the case of the former Bauhaus originals; for safety reasons, it is made of a heat-resistant synthetic material that is coated with a glossy cotton fabric.
Tecnolumen Wagenfeld WG 28 table lamp – a light classic rich in history
Already in 1924, Wagenfeld designed the table lamp with the characteristic, dome-shaped lampshade when he was given a task by his teacher, the well-known artist László Moholy-Nagy – today this work is known as the Bauhaus lamp. Naturally, this classic from the Bauhaus era which is distributed by
Tecnolumen under the name Wagenfeld WG 24 table light is also available from light11. This design also formed the basis for the
Tecnolumen Wagenfeld WG 28 table lamp, both lights resemble, for instance, in their form and condition of the lamp base.
Since
Tecnolumen is the only manufacturer worldwide that is authorised to reproduce the designs by Wilhelm Wagenfeld, all
Wagenfeld WG 28 table lights are provided with a serial number as well as a mark. Again and again, illegal copies of the popular Bauhaus table lamp are found which do not correspond to the quality of the original in terms of workmanship and material.
