Stylish uplights for glare-free, indirect ambient lighting
Uplights are exquisite fixtures that enhance interiors with glare-free, indirect light: these modern designer lamps emit their light upwards, where it is reflected by the ceiling. This creates cozy and harmonious indirect ambient lighting. Since many floor lamps are dimmable, they can be used to create extremely cozy interiors.
Uplights are suitable whenever you want to provide an interior space with glare-free, indirect light as well as a decorative furnishing. Some of these lamps are also designed with adjustable arms to supply light for reading.
At light11, you’ll find energy-efficient uplights with built-in LED modules or conventional E27 sockets. Among these lamps, you’ll find classic models whose timeless designs have been enticing customers for years. Choose between multiple lumen values and a variety of attractive colors to ensure your new floor lamp perfectly highlights your style of living.
Uplights with built-in LEDs are extremely energy-efficient. What’s more, compact LED modules allow for flat and thin shapes and minimalist light designs. Some LED lights can even be controlled by a remote control (or a smartphone thanks to Casambi or Bluetooth technology) for extra comfort and convenience.
If you choose an uplight with a conventional E27 socket, then you’ll simply change the light bulbs yourself as needed. We recommend retrofit LEDs for energy-efficient lighting. Are you all about comfort and convenience? If so, then use a smart bulb for your uplight.
Since the main purpose of uplights is to provide indirect ambient lighting, we recommend a lamp with at least 1,000 lumens. The optimal lumen value depends on a number of factors, including the size and natural brightness of the room. In general, large and dark rooms need more light than small, bright rooms. . With these lamps, you get indirect ambient lighting as well as direct light for reading. Their adjustable arms come in handy when you don’t have room for a separate reading light.
Can uplights be used as wall lights?
Our uplights are floor lamps that emit their light upwards. We also offer
wall lamps that emit their light upwards

How do I convert my uplight into an LED lamp?
If your floor lamp has an E27 socket, you can simply choose a compatible LED bulb with an E27 base. In the next section, we’ll look at which bulbs are suitable for uplights.
If your uplight has an R7s socket, then you likely won't be able to convert it to LED due to a lack of suitable alternatives for halogen rods. In such a case, we recommend purchasing a new LED uplight.
Which bulbs are suitable for uplights?
Once again, halogen bulbs are best for floor lamps with R7s sockets. On the other hand, we recommend energy-efficient retrofit LEDs for lights with E27 sockets. Opt for bulbs with at least 1,000 lumens to ensure your room gets enough light. You’ll also want to take the characteristics of the shade into consideration. For example, a matte bulb will help prevent shadows from forming on an opal glass lamp shade.
Interested in creating different moods or changing the type or color of the light? If so, upgrade your LED uplight with a smart bulb. These bulbs can be conveniently controlled by way of a remote control, smartphone, or tablet.
