The beginnings of Verpan go back to 2003. At that time, the Danish company launched the first production of Verner Panton lights. Today, the range consists of selected iconic products by the star designer. Verpan thus continues the artistic legacy of Verner Panton (1926 - 1998) as the official licence holder of Verner Panton Design AG.
Verner Panton is considered one of the most influential and renowned designers and interior architects of his time. With a revolutionary approach, he created lights, furniture and home textiles that became true icons.
Verner Panton
loved experimenting with shapes and materials and designed imaginative, often sculptural lighting objects. With a great sense of colour and light, he created original and expressive lighting solutions that stood out from the crowd. Panton was one of the first to introduce pop art design into the world of living with luminaires in round shapes and bright colours. Thanks to Verpan, the Danish designer lives on in his luminaires.
Pantop - pop art luminaire for glare-free light
Pantop is one of Verner Panton's later works. Designed in 1980, the lamp is characterised by its striking bell-shaped shade, which gently curves outwards. The light shines downwards through it without glare and illuminates the area below.
The Verpan light in pop art design is available in many different colours and is a stylish eye-catcher in any room. While the pendant light illuminates your dining table, the table lamp provides pleasant reading light, whether from a side table or bedside table. The Pantop table lamp also cuts a fine figure on the sideboard.
You can use the rechargeable lamp very flexibly. You can use it to provide cordless light on the windowsill, dining or coffee table or even on the garden table. To create a particularly atmospheric ambience, you can dim the light using the integrated touch dimmer.
Verner Panton's inspiration for the 1969 design classic was none other than the first moon landing. The Dane was so fascinated by it that he captured this milestone in his design for the Globe. The pendant light consists of a spherical body made of acrylic glass. It encloses five geometrically shaped reflectors made of glass or aluminium, which are connected to each other by delicate metal chains. The result is a sculptural design object with soft light that flows diffusely in all directions. VP Globe is a stylish eye-catcher in your living room above the coffee table.
Verner Panton - visionary designer with innovative ideas
Verner Panton was a master of his trade. With his unique sense of colour, form and light, the Dane created inspiring, pioneering designs that appear more contemporary than ever today.
Born in 1926, the architect and designer initially worked as a painter before taking up his architectural studies, during which he focused intensively on colour psychology. From 1950 to 1952, Verner Panton worked in Arne Jacobsen's studio before opening his own architecture and design studio in 1955. Unlike Jacobsen, he focused on geometric shapes and bright colours in his designs. Many of his objects are more reminiscent of spatial sculptures than everyday objects.
Panton pursued the goal of completely merging functions and spatial units. He saw the main purpose of his work as "encouraging people to use their own imagination."
