DesignA shade made of genuine mother-of-pearl shells turns the Verpan Fun 11DM pendant light into a timeless designer object. By means of the Verpan Fun 11 DM pendant light, the Danish manufacturer reissued a design classic from the 1960s which attracts attention for two reasons. Firstly, its special lampshade made of shimmering nacre discs ensures admiring looks and arouses a feeling of summer, beach and sand. The shells are connected by means of small metal rings to form fascinating chains that are suspended from five chrome-plated rings. Secondly, this chandelier stands out for a high-quality workmanship and radiates a distinguished aura.
A nice feature that is found on all versions of this light is the signature of Verner Panton, which testifies the authenticity of the respective piece. The designer who died in 1998 was an authority of Scandinavian Design and created the Verpan Fun as early as 1964. He achieved great fame, for instance, with the Panton Chair – the first cantilever chair without rear legs that was completely made of a synthetic material. Furthermore, he designed unique pieces such as the Panthella T table lamp for Louis Poulsen.
