The Verpan VP Globe Coloured Glass pendant light is a special edition of the successful VP Globe series by Verner Panton, who created the original model in 1969. Meant as a tribute to the moon landing of that time, the VP Globe has kept its futuristic aura until the present day.
Colourful reflectors of different sizes made of hand-polished aluminium or smoked glass are held in placed by means of filigree metal chains and thereby seem to float inside the clear sphere made of acrylic glass. The illuminant is hidden inside a reflector in the centre of the sphere.
Upon being switched on, the Verpan VP Globe Coloured Glass emits a clearly-defined beam of light upwards and downwards. At the same time, the various reflectors scatter a portion of light in all directions, which results in a particularly harmonious lighting effect. What is more, the colourful elements give the light a warm touch. In this way, the pendant light by Verpan suffuses a coffee table in the living room or a dining table in the dining room with pleasant light while contributing to the base lighting of the room.
